Minecraft beta 1.7.3 auth Offline#
This error doesn't appear if the game can't connect to the authentication servers at all, as the game only checks for a 400 response code, which it won't get if the computer it's being played on is offline, and now, since the authentication servers themselves, at least at the address the game checks at, are offline themselves, the message no longer appears on any copy, as the game just assumes it's offline. In older versions of Minecraft, this message shows up after a while of playing if Mojang's authentication servers return a 400 response code when verifying the session ID, which occurs when the session ID that the launcher passed to the game itself is either invalid, or doesn't match whatever Mojang's server has, which can occur if the session ID is regenerated as a result of logging in from another location, or the player playing using pirated launcher, which obviously doesn't authenticate with Mojang, making the ID not exist in the first place. This can get annoying because it also shows up in-game as well. The splash was only shown on June 1st, Notch's birthday. The splash was only shown on November 9th, ez's birthday.
